Chapter 01: Birth and early childhood – Every path has a starting point!

As many people out there I was born somewhere some day. In my case the city ought to be Tehran and the country Iran. I and my parents lived in a flat in a residential building and the country was in the middle of the Iran-Iraq war and I actively remember some occasions in which the air alert went on and we all had to run into the bunker. As a kid it was frightening and exciting at the same time.

On one day a missile hit near an adjacent residential building, but fortunately nothing bad happened to me or my family during this period. As you may understand Iranian media was of course full of propaganda against Saddam Hussein and his ally the United States. But most of the Iranian people love American people, American Life and the American Dream. It is somehow twisted, but there is a difference between politics and society.

Besides that I remember that I really liked cats at that time ad there were always two running around the residential building. Playing with them or playing tag with other kids was always exciting. Unfortunately on one day one of my friends was electrocuted while playing with or in near of the junction box and that was a very sad moment and tragic. Surviving war and dying while playing.

I also had my first contacts with digital games in Iran and I remember playing PitStop and SpyHunter on the Atari. One day my father and I were on an electronic trade show and there was a SEGA OutRun arcade machine in which you could sit and drive with the steering wheel. My performance was bad, but it was really fun and exciting. It was a game designed by Yu Suzuki, whose work I really learn to appreciate in the coming years.
